Criminals have seized the opportunities to exploit the global pandemic crisis caused by the Coronavirus, by adapting their approach or developing new criminal activities. These include various types of adapted versions of telephone fraud schemes, supply scams and decontamination scams. These attempts are to trick people into opening malicious attachments which could lead to fraudsters stealing people’s personal information, email logins, passwords, and banking details.

Please be extra vigilant and on the lookout for fake emails or text messages pretending to be from reputable companies such as a bank or building society, or even from the Government itself.

Please remember;

  • We will never contact you to ask for passwords or login details
  • We will never send an email to ask you to click on links to any website
  • We will never advise you to move money from one account to another

*   Never give your personal data or card details to anyone until you are certain you know it is a genuine request
